It is simply a form of writing that uses different types of documents. These documents found in science, technology, business, and industry are common. The person writing tends to write based on their wants or likes but you should always keep in mind who will be reading the material and gear it toward that audience. If you are working on a school assignment you may be thinking of your instructor or peers. When writing for work you are probably thinking of coworkers or leadership. All of these audiences would require different writing to fit their needs. I think one of the most important things to determine is to figure out where you users are talking. I see a lot of people in the business world using LinkedIn. It is great in a broader aspect to the community of people interested in localization.
