The Importance of Social Media
Each social networking site is slightly different than the other. It is designed with a purpose and a certain way to reach an audience.
I think one of the most important things to determine is to figure out where you users are talking. I see a lot of people in the business world using LinkedIn. It is great in a broader aspect to the community of people interested in localization. Twitter gives people a chance to see the positive and negative communications and most important basically to push out information. Facebook is another avenue people use as well. The social media world has many options available for people to promote and push out information on. There are so many networking options available. This is where you determine how and what type of audience you are trying to reach in the best way that is successful. Often you might not be able to share some of your technical writing team’s strategies, but by sharing the ideas you can or want to achieve may help you see what weaknesses they might have or what you might want to change. The one thing I love about social media is you can save searches and go back to review and follow technical writers. That way you can keep up with this ever changing world.
